The CDRI rates every player from 0 to 100 across six categories, weighted the way college coaches weigh them. It tells you where they stand now, and the score rises as they improve.
Highlighted: CDRI 60+, the score needed to use “Coach Drew’s Recruit” in the subject line.
Who it’s for
The CDRI 60+ subject-line rule
The rule
To use “Coach Drew’s Recruit” in the subject line, a player must complete Coach Drew’s CDRI Evaluation and score 60 or higher.
No other service, camp or evaluation qualifies. It’s how college coaches know the player has been personally evaluated by Coach Drew.
College coaches open emails with “Coach Drew’s Recruit” in the subject line because they trust that the player is a real college prospect. To protect that trust for every family, the subject line is reserved for players who score at D3 / NAIA level or higher.
CDRI 60 or higher
They get their full CDRI Evaluation and the coach email, and they can use “Coach Drew’s Recruit” in the subject line.
Below 60?
They still get their full CDRI Evaluation, their matched schools and the CDRI coach email to send. They can’t use “Coach Drew’s Recruit” in the subject line until a re-evaluation shows a score of 60 or higher.

Why good players go unrecruited
“If they’re good enough, coaches will find them.”
That’s what most parents believe, and it’s what most parents realize too late isn’t true. When coaches don’t answer, it’s usually exposure, positioning and strategy, not talent.
Emails go unanswered
Generic emails land in a folder coaches check once a week. Coaches answer people they know and trust.
Showcases, no follow-up
A showcase without a plan before and after it produces nothing. Coaches need to know they’re coming.
Rosters fill early
Coaches fill rosters months ahead and stop looking at seniors by October. Waiting is the most expensive mistake.
What most families don’t know
What is Phase 2 of recruiting?
Phase 2 begins in September of a player’s senior year. It’s when most families stop, and when I go to work. Here’s what happens month by month.
Phase 2 is for seniors who are still looking for opportunities and aren’t ready to give up.
In Phase 2, coaches don’t respond to family emails. They call back the people they trust. I have been one of those people for 27 years. When I reach out to a college coach about your athlete, they open it, because in 27 years I have never wasted their time. Nick Saban recruited one of my players from an email I sent him at Alabama. Someone over there is definitely opening the mail.

Zero offers as a senior. After working with Coach Drew he had 20+ and went on to Alabama: two national championships, a first-round NFL pick and a $6,698,836 signing bonus.
Coach Drew’s son. Recruited by Amherst, Cornell, Dartmouth, Lafayette and Johns Hopkins; chose Hopkins, played four years and was an All-American. Today he is CEO & President of Sikorski Wealth Management, LLC.
